Brad Childress was born on June 27, 1956, in Aurora, Illinois. He attended Marmion Academy in Aurora, where he played football and basketball. After high school, Childress went on to attend Eastern Illinois University, where he played college football as a quarterback.

Career in Coaching

Childress began his coaching career in 1978 as a graduate assistant at the University of Illinois. He then went on to coach at various colleges before making the jump to the NFL. In 1999, Childress joined the Philadelphia Eagles as their quarterbacks coach. He later became the offensive coordinator for the Eagles before being hired as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2006.
